Embodied Rituals for the Beginning of Spring

Early spring is a long-awaited transition from this epic winter. The earth begins to stir. Light returns gradually, the ground softens slowly, and the body needs time to catch up. Rituals that encourage movement and renewal without forcing the pace are perfect. Spring asks us to awaken gently.

Individualized Support
These writings offer general guidance. If you are craving more individualized support, now is a wonderful time to explore working together. If you wonder what that looks like, reach out for a discovery session or email with questions. I included a few “shares” at the end of this newsletter from people I’ve been supporting to give you a better idea of what can grow from our work together.

Nutrition & Herbal Support
As we transition out of winter, lighter meals, bitter greens, and warming herbs help support digestion, liver function, and energy. Soups give way to broths, sautéed greens, arugula, lemon, and sprouts. Herbal allies will soon begin to emerge in our local landscape. Nettles, garlic mustard, violet, dandelion, and cleavers offer mineral support and gentle detoxification.

Radical Care
Radical care in early spring means listening closely to what is ready to shift and what still needs rest.

  • Open the windows and put drops of your favorite essential oil on the windowsill. The fragrant breeze will refresh your indoor space.
  • Take a longer walk, and use the Merlin app to help identify the songs of returning birds.
  • Drink tea in the morning sun
  • Release one habit, object, or obligation that has grown heavy.

Renewal does not need to be dramatic to be effective. It begins with one nourishing choice, repeated with devotion and consistency.

A Simple Spring Ritual
Begin the day with a cup of warm tea and step outside, even for a few minutes. Feel your feet on the earth, take three slow breaths, and ask yourself: What is ready to awaken in me now? Let the answer arrive slowly.
